Following the original Cuckoo EP which brought high praise from likes of Rodney Bingenheimer and Janice Long, in a grand tradition of 1980s 12 inch records we present dub mixes of Cuckoo. This limited, numbered two track CD includes a 12" dub mix, and an extended Night Version.
 
Drawing on post-punk and shoegaze influences, Carousell inhabit a similar space to where the Cure, the Bunnymen, and Horrors can be found.
The immediacy of their already prolific stock of original songs is matched by the musical pedigree of its members; bringing together four razor sharp talents into a fearsome live unit.
Behind the kit is drum icon Dave Barbarossa, who has provided the beats in his unique style for several world-conquering bands, including Adam & The Ants and Bow Wow Wow, and more recently Republica, Beats International, and Roland Gift. A protagonist who was there at the birth of punk in the UK, Dave is one of the most innovative and influential drummers of his generation, a true original.
Sara Baile, late of cult London band The Bisons, a classically trained guitarist and violinist via squat raves, analogue synths, and drum machines. From the nineties punk and industrial scenes in London and New York, DJing at warehouse parties, and traversing the noughties nu-electro scene, Sara now also works as a singer/songwriter for television and film.
Electronic music producer extrordinaire John Taylor of Punx Soundcheck has worked with a veritable galaxy of stars and has had records out on such iconic labels as Kitsune and Gigolo; all this and he has also crossed the world several times as a DJ from the opening and closing parties at Space Ibiza to tours of South America, from Japan to New York to Russia.
Low end and guitar meister Andy Duke is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who has played for everyone from Kylie Minogue to Bad Manners and even holds a Guinness World Record for the “most gigs played in 12 hours”. He knows how to be thunderous when needed, and when to leave space.
